Learn how to make shredded chicken in an Instant Pot from frozen with these easy techniques.

If you have never made chicken in an Instant Pot, now is the time! This is my favorite way to make a bulk amount of shredded chicken to add to so many meals.
This technique can be used to cook chicken breasts fresh or from frozen.
The only thing that will differ is the amount of time it needs to cook. Frozen chicken takes about 18 minutes, while fresh is closer to 12 minutes. Either way, it is super quick and easy and a total game changer!
Why I like to bulk prep shredded chicken an Instant Pot:
I can have a good protein source in minutes from the freezer to a meal without any major meal planning.
Shredded chicken is completely versatile.
Use in all your favorite recipes, including: pizza, salad, sandwiches, tacos, quesadillas, wraps, and more!
How it’s done:
On this particular day, I had 3 very frozen, medium size chicken breasts.
Place them in your Instant Pot and add about 1 cup of water. For extra flavor, sprinkle with salt and pepper.

Secure the lid and make sure the knob is set to the sealed position.
Press the “pressure cook” button and cook for 18 minutes. *this is for frozen chicken

If you are wanting to make chicken that is already completely thawed out, I set the pressure to cook for about 12 minutes.
Once the timer beeps, go ahead and release the pressure on your pot.
Remove the lid and drain the water, keeping the chicken in the pot.
Now, you can use the chicken however you want. For delicious shredded chicken, use a hand mixer and shred it with the electric beaters while it is still hot.

Finally, your chicken is ready to use in anyway you want. Keep in the refrigerator in a bowl for recipes throughout the week.
